Dallas police chief: Snipers shoot officers at protest; at least four officers dead

DALLAS >> At least 2 snipers opened fire on police officers during protests in Dallas on Thu night, killing 4 officers and injuring 7 and police said.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown told reporters the snipers fired “ambush style” upon the officers. He remarked police had a suspect cornered and were negotiating with him. Brown remarked eleven officers were shot, 3 of them fatally. Police later tweeted that a 4th officer had died.

“In times like this we must remember — and emphasize — the importance of uniting as People from United States ” Abbott said.
